Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to cultivate clinical mastery, foster professional leadership, support student academic success, and advance preventive community oral health throughout Lima and surrounding counties. Our vision is a dynamic educational community where dental hygiene students transition into licensed healthcare leaders equipped with state-of-the-art clinical skills, strong ethical values, and a commitment to lifetime community service.

The Lima Campus Student American Dental Hygienists' Association (SADHA) is the official student chapter of the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) and the Ohio Dental Hygienists' Association (ODHA) at Rhodes State College, uniting future registered dental hygienists around clinical excellence, preventive oral healthcare, patient advocacy, and ethical practice.

Governance & Institutional Structure

Lima Campus SADHA is managed by an elected executive board of dental hygiene students, operating under the guidance of faculty advisors from the Rhodes State College Dental Hygiene Department. Our governance runs on three connected levels:

  • Student Chapter Level — Lima Campus SADHA. Student governance, local campus activities, peer study groups, and community service outreach.
  • State Level — Ohio Dental Hygienists' Association (ODHA). Statewide student scholarship opportunities, annual session representation, and state regulatory tracking.
  • National Level — American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA). National board support, student research opportunities, national legislative lobbying, and career resources.

Career Development & Student Resources

Graduate members carry relationships with regional dental practices, community health centers, and hospital networks across West-Central Ohio into direct access to associate positions and clinical mentorship.

Structured peer mentorship pairs senior students with incoming first-years, and every member is held to the ADHA Code of Ethics — compassionate patient care, professional integrity, and evidence-based decision-making.
